I live in the small hamlet of Water End surrounded by beautiful hilly Buckinghamshire countryside, an inspirational setting in which to do as much painting as possible around being a new mum, our first baby having just been born beginning of December 2008.

I enjoy painting and sketching in a wide variety of different mediums, such as oil pastels, soft pastels, acrylics, charcoal and watercolours, and enjoy mixing and matching to suit a theme.

My major subjects include animal portraiture (which stemmed from painting our own pet dogs, cats and horses!), local landscapes, architecture and wildlife. Studied Art and achieved an 'A' at A-level, and was torn between pursuing that or my love of horses at university. Having completed a degree in equine science, I can honestly say that it has also greatly benefited my artwork having gained an in depth knowledge of animal structure and anatomy!

The Red Kites have been one of my most interesting recent projects, these birds were first re-introduced over our neighbouring village twenty years ago, and now it is rare to step out without seeing at least one wheeling overhead, sometimes as many as forty when the farm down the lane throws out food. With so many fantastic opportunities to study them I have produced many sketches, paintings and postcards, from the sales of which 10% always goes to the Chiltern Conservation Board’s ‘Friends of Red Kites in the Chilterns’ as a small thank you to these magnificent birds for providing such popular subjects.
